Peter and the wolf

When we are children, our parents always tell us stories or accounts to teach us something.
It is very common that when we grow up we tell the same stories to our children and continue through the years.
A very old story, but very good one is the Peter and the Wolf. My mom told us this story to my sisters and me, when I was 5 years old.
One day a boy named Peter was working in the garden of his father where he had planted lettuce. Suddenly he began to cry "wolf, wolf, help me please!" and many people came running to help him, but it was only a lie of the child. People were very angry and they went home. Peter laughed for the joke that he  had done to his neighbors and his parents.
Another day while everyone was working on their farms, Pedrito began to scream again that the wolf came, screaming and screaming, many people quickly ran to help him but it was another lie. The angry neighbors returned to their work and the child's parents punished him for the joke he had made. Parents warned that continued to scream and lie, in the end nobody would believe him.
A week later, Peter was playing on the farm and suddenly appeared a huge, ferocious wolf who wanted to steal all the vegetables from her father. The child screamed and screamed but no one helped. Finally the wolf stole lettuce, carrots, potatoes, corn, etc. Peter ran home and began to mourn.
When he saw his parents, he told them what had happened and they gave him a big hug. His father told him that he had warned that there was to make jokes because if it were true nobody would come to help, and that was it. Pedrito learned his lesson, he apologized to the people of the village and never lied.
The moral of this story leaves us is that we should never lie, we must always tell the truth because, so people will believe what we say and they always help us.
Moreover, we must trust on our parents and we should accept what they tell us because they always will protect us.

CHILE

Chile is a long and narrow country. It has many customs and one of the most important for the Chilean people is food. Our cuisine has been influenced by ancient indigenous people and the Spanish conquered them. However, the traditional Chilean food is empanada, asado or pastel de choclo, but for the large geographic area of the country, the recipes are very different from each other.

I divide the meals according to the north, center and south of the country.
In the north of Chile the people continue to use Aymara and Atacameñas traditional foods such as maize, quinoa, squash, potatoes, etc. and used the llama or Alpaca meat for cooking, this delicious achieved.

In the central zone of Chile the people working the land thus to get a lot of food that gives us vegetables and fruits. Besides the VII region is noted for the wine production and winemaking  with the best “sepas” of the area such as "Cabernet Sauvignon", "Merlot", "Chardonnay", etc.

In the south of the country, the Mapuche and Chilotes base their meals on potatoes, merquén, pans and curantos. This area is known for shellfish that people pull from the sea every day. It is also important to mention the influence of German pastries brought many delicious recipes sweets.

On the other hand, the Chilean people do not care much for your health. We put aside our physical and psychological health. For example few people are given the time to put creams on the body, face and hands, not using sunscreen for protecting our skin from UV rays because we do not realize that every day they kill our skin, the only exercise that most people do is walk, but that's not enough for a healthy body, we did not eat healthy with nutritious meals, do not care for our cholesterol. Diabetes, etc. It is necessary that we begin to love and care for our body because in the future we will suffer the consequences and we cannot blame anyone.

Chile Bicentennial

In Chile the people celebrated “Bicentennial” because we have been independent for two hundred years. On September 18th , 1810 the Chilean made a meeting called “Primera Junta Nacional de Gobierno”; Mr. Mateo de Toro y Zambrano was the President at this meeting, and since day we celebrated own independence.
Another important day is on September 19th because in Santiago at Parque O`Higgins the Chilean people they celebrate “Dia de las Glorias del Ejercito” and for this reason we performed the military parade, here the soldiers of the Army parade according to each military school.

In those days the people did many activities with their families or friends. Also Children played Trompo, kite flying, playing greasy pole and catch the pig.
I celebrated “Fiestas Patrias” first with my friends and after with my family.
On Friday 17th at night I went to the “Fonda” called “Donde Mea la Negra”, here my friends and I bought some things to drink like Terremotos, Chichas, Jotes, Navegados, etc. We also ate foods such as Anticuchos, Empanadas, Choripan, Mote con Huesillos, etc. These are all typical Chilean food and drink and people eat them very often. They are delicious. If you have the ability to eat and drink it, do it! It was so good the party that ended at 6:00 am on Saturday 18th. The same day was the parade of children and institutions in the main square of the town of Molina. I went to Molina with my mom and my sisters, whose names are Fernanda and Kattia. We went to see my dad because he was singing in the Choir Radal de Molina", they are a group of adults who meet every week to rehearse songs and the choir are presented on different occasions in the community, and on this occasion they sang the National Anthem and Anthem of Chile with a group of High School Students. When the parade ended we went to Curico, and ate lunch, Empanadas made by my mom. In the afternoon the same day, my dad cooked meat for the barbeque for the family where we had a nice moment.
September 19th, my dad work, but my sisters and I got up very late. We had lunch again empanadas. After this we rested and at 3:00 pm started the parade of this year, so we saw all the presentations before the official parade. For example, 200 people marched with 200 flags of Chile, some young people and children dancing "Cueca" our national dance, and finally soldiers paraded.
The last one day of activities,on 20th September, the Navy and Air Force of Chile made an activity called "Revista Aerea y Naval", here they showed aircraft, submarines, ships, etc. that Chile has in this moment.
That was my celebration of the bicentennial of Chile. I hope you have enjoyed our great and beautiful celebration.

Winter Vacation!

During my vacation I saw some movies like The Guardian, The Notebook, Amelie, etc.; I visited my family and I was traveling by train.
First day I went to Santiago because I visited my grandparents. I do not see them in all year, so vacation is my opportunity for visited them.
They live in Santiago, in a place called La Florida with my aunt.
During those days we went to the cinema and we watched a movie called Toy Story 3.
The second day I went to Patronato with my grandmother and I bought some T-shirt, one bag and two rings because in this place there are a lot of store when you can find clothe, shoes, accessories, etc. I loved this day because I like to go window-shopping.
Next day I came back to my home. I arrived to Curicó at 2pm., so I had lunch only with my mother because my sisters were studying and my father was working. After we went to the mall because my mom needed to buy in the supermarket  something like milk, vegetables, eggs, rice, bread, flour, etc.
On day I went to the restaurant with my family, we ate Chinese food. After I went to then disco called Casa Vieja with them because they like to dance.
My aunt called Maggi arrived on Sunday to my home. She lives in Tomé. Tomé is near to Concepción. She went to hairdressers with my mom and my sister called Fernanda, but I did not go because I had been cooking a delicious Lemon Pie. So when they came back we ate Lemon Pie with my father in my home. While we were eating we were talking about family (cousins, aunts, uncles, sons, sisters, etc.) and obviously about their lives, health and jobs. Also we remembered some family stories such as when my cousin called Sergio said to my aunt all the time that he was sick but it was a lie, or when my sisters cooked a cake she used others ingredients so we ate something strange but really delicious. She was a little girl.
Finally day of my little vacation I slept so much because I did not take a rest but I am happy because I enjoyed with my family every day.
Now I am waiting my summer vacation!
